Lynn Zimmerman MA, CCC-SLP

Lynn has been a Speech-Language Pathologist and active member of ASHA (TheAmerican Speech, Language and Hearing Association) since 1993. Lynn was awarded her Bachelors in Communication Disorders by Boston University in1991. Her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology was awarded by George Washington University in 1993. While in Graduate school she held a year long, grant funded, research and trainee position at the Georgetown University Hospital's Child Development Center. This experience provided her the opportunity to be a part of the Hospital's Assessment and Diagnostic team, allowing for in-depth experience as part of a multidisciplinary team of child development experts.

Lynn Zimmerman - Cobblestone Speech, Language and LearningFollowing graduation Lynn moved to New Jersey to work at Voorhees Pediatric Facility providing Speech, Language, Feeding and Swallowing rehabilitation services to an inpatient, medically fragile population. Moving to Boston, Lynn took a similar position at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital's Outpatient Pediatric Clinic. She enjoyed the opportunity, at both locations, to work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Developmental Pediatricians and Respiratory Therapists.

Lynn moved to Denver in 1999 and took a position as a full time mother! While mothering she continued her education with courses specializing in Oro-Facial Myology, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Pediatric Voice Disorders, Childhood Stuttering, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Integration Disorders,and the PROMPT technique for speech production. In 2005 Lynn began to see children on a private basis in family homes. In addition, she began to contract with Jefferson County's Child Find program for the birth-3 population, also providing services in family's homes.

Cobblestone Speech, Language & Learning Opened

Lynn embraced the opportunity, in 2010, to open Cobblestone Speech, Language and Learning, an office based practice in the Ken Caryl area. Cobblestone offers families positive, motivating and effective Speech and Language services. Lynn recognizes that children with communication needs benefit greatly when Speech-Language Pathologists, Parents, Pediatricians, Care Providers, Teachers, and other health professionals work together and communicate regularly.

Samantha has been a Speech Language Pathologist and a member of the American Speech Hearing Association since 2008. She was awarded her undergraduate degree from Augustana College in Rock Island Illinois where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences/Disorders with a minor in Sociology. Samantha attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO following her bachelor's program where she completed her Master of Science in the field of Speech Language Pathology.

MELISSA RAE, M.A. LEARNING SPECIALIST

Melissa RaeMelissa Rae holds a master's degree in Special Education from University of Northern Colorado. She has fourteen years of experience teaching children who learn differently. Melissa has worked with people who have dyslexia, autism, apraxia, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, cognitive impairments, and rare chromosomal disorders.

She has been an elementary classroom teacher, special education teacher for grades K-12, and reading interventionist. She utilizes a variety of multi-sensory techniques to teach reading, spelling, math and writing to students ages three years old to adulthood. Her training and experience include Orton-Gillingham techniques (basic and advanced), Step Up to Writing, TouchMath, and Yoshimoto OG Multisensory Math. She joined Cobblestone Speech, Language, and Learning in October 2017.

KIMBERLY MEISS, M.S. CCC—SLP

Kimberly MeissKimberly has practiced Speech Language Pathology as a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association since 2013. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Appalachian State University where she also minored in psychology. In 2013 she earned a Masters in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Appalachian State University.

Kimberly worked in Arizona for a private practice in the Phoenix area for five and a half years. She worked with the pediatric population where she gained experience evaluating and treating a variety of ages and diagnoses. Kimberly worked closely with families to ensure success in the child’s development. She found a passion working with social skills, in particular, and helped develop and run a social skills summer camp for children ages 3-9. Kimberly is PROMPT trained and is able to work with children with AAC devices, Phonological Processes, and Apraxia of Speech. Kimberly is an expert working with a variety of disorders and syndromes, including: Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Hydrocephalus, Fragile X Syndrome, Down Syndrome and Angelman's Syndrome. She has experience with AAC devices, PECS system, as well as behavioral challenges.

During her free time, you will find her playing soccer or enjoying the outdoors through hiking, camping, and biking. She also loves to travel and is always excited for a new experience.

LINDSAY UNZICKER, M.S. CCC—SLP

Lindsay UnzickerLindsay is a Speech Language Pathologist who provides evidence-based therapy to populations of all ages with a special interest in pediatrics. She believes establishing meaningful relationships with families and collaborating with related services helps to provide a holistic approach to treatment. She began her career providing services in a variety of settings within San Diego county including private clinics, early intervention, home health, and different school districts. While providing therapy in these settings, Lindsay developed skills for working with Developmental Language Disorders, Genetic Disorders, Autism Spectrum, Articulation Disorders, Phonological Processes, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Cognitive Disorders, Foreign Accent Modification, and Word Retrieval.

While working in the school districts, Lindsay implemented services within traditional public school settings, summer school, preschool transitions, and charter schools. She developed intensive knowledge of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and advocated strongly for the needs of her families. She worked closely with Special Educators, Occupational Therapists, and School Psychologists to support not only speech and language development but also social communication skills for the purpose of supporting academic progress.

Lindsay received her certificate of clinical competence from The American Speech, Language and Hearing Association in 2010 and is currently licensed by the state of Colorado. She graduated with honors with dual degrees from Michigan State University, including a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. She completed her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Arizona.

In her free time she enjoys the beautiful scenery in Colorado by camping, hiking with her family, looking for new playgrounds with her son, and bird watching. She participates in different local groups for Mothers, including starting a book club/playgroup with other local Moms and their children.
